Description of the countryside guesthouse

“LA TERRA DEL MEZZO – Turismo rurale” was built in 2007 from a set of refurbished old country houses in the outskirts of Torre Archirafi, a little fishermen’s village in the north-east coast of Sicily. The complex is within a family owned citrus orchard which has been running as an agricultural outfit for many decades – once a vineyard, it was converted into a lemon orchard only four decades ago, and we still grow lemons, oranges, and various vegetables throughout the year. “

“LA TERRA DEL MEZZO – Turismo rurale” is a family run business, and the atmosphere is warm and friendly, in the quiet surroundings of the vast countryside. The reception area has a common room for the guests’ perusal. It is adjacent to the spacious parking area within our grounds. The rooms and the restaurant are within short walking distance (50 meters) from the reception area. The complex has six double rooms, and four suites (it accommodates 24 in total), large outdoor areas, a common room with a TV and a bar in the reception area, a playground; there are also some bicycles for the guests to enjoy the countryside. Italian breakfast is served every morning. The restaurant offers local specialities which can be enjoyed half- or full-board as a fixed fish or meat menu which varies on a daily basis, along with white or red Sicilian wines.

General description of the rooms

The two storey building has six double rooms and four suites. All of the rooms and suites on the ground floor have a private patio, whereas the ones on the first floor have wooden ceilings, as well as spectacular views of Mount Etna and Taormina. There are natural terracotta tiled floors throughout, and traditional wooden furniture. All of the rooms and suites have double glazed windows, shutters, heating and air conditioning, fridge, television, and internet access. All of the rooms have en suite bathrooms – two have bath tubs and the rest have showers. In addition, the suites have a sofa bed in the entrance hall. Two of the double rooms are disabled friendly. Access to all rooms, restaurant, and common room are through exterior paths and courtyards.

Cost of services provided Breakfast, car parking, use of bicycles and playground are all included in the cost of your stay. Mini-bar in the rooms, drinks at the restaurant and at the bar in the reception area, and telephone calls are not included.

The cost of lunch and dinner are for the fixed daily menu.
